Cuentan que, en tiempo de nuestros abuelos, se celebraba en temporada de cosecha la llegada del maíz. El blanco, amarillo, morado, pinto, cuatro representantes que dan vida al ser humano, por eso debemos de dar gracias a Dios, a la santa tierra, al santo agua, al sol y a la luna, porque son la guardia de su crecimiento. Esta es la importancia de continuar con esta tradición, agradecerle al santo maíz con veladoras, atoles, marimba y baile y poder tener siempre una buena cosecha.
Así lo contamos los q’anjob’ales.

White, yellow, purple, and red, four representatives that give life to the human being, that´s why we must thank God, the holy land, the holy water, the sun, and the moon, because they are the guardians of their growth. That is the importance of continuing with this tradition, to thank the holy corn with candles, atoles, marimba and dancing, and to always have a good harvest
